My Story

I came to Thailand 12 years ago as a recovering addict with nothing.

I opened Siam Rehab with very little expertise and even less money — just a determination to create something honest. Over nearly ten years, I grew it from three beds to thirty-five. I learned everything the hard way: how to hire the best clinical staff, how to build a program that actually works, and how to run a centre that treats people with dignity.

Then I took everything I'd learned and opened The Diamond Rehab Thailand in Hua Hin — a made-to-measure centre designed from the ground up to be the best it could be. Today Diamond runs itself with its own director, clinical psychologists, and a full professional team. I've also co-founded three leading rehabilitation centres in Cape Town, South Africa.

I'm semi-retired now. I play a lot of badminton and golf. I'm married with three kids, and life is good.

But over the years, I've noticed something that bothers me: most online information sites have no idea what's actually happening inside these rehab centres. They've never built one, never hired clinical staff, never sat with a family in crisis. And yet they're making recommendations that can be a matter of life or death.

Choosing the wrong rehab isn't just a waste of money — it's a wasted chance at recovery. Every person is different and needs a different form of treatment. I know this firsthand because I've been on both sides: as someone who needed help, and as someone who built the places that provide it.

That's why I started Asia Rehab Guide. I'm willing to talk to parents, family members, or the person seeking help — and together we'll find the right treatment centre. If Diamond is the right fit, I'll tell you. If another centre is better, I'll tell you that too.

I know most of the owners of the centres listed on this site. That means I can often help you get quick access to an available room that might otherwise take weeks to arrange.

My goal isn't to get paid. My goal is to make sure you get to the right place.
